What does the Bible say about abortion & life inside the womb?

Pro-life vs. Pro-choice. Free will vs. Abortion. I’m sure you’ve heard the debates. What it all boils down to is the value of life. Is “it” a new life or not?

What does the Bible say?

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139:13-16

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord… he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.

Luke 1:15

From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

Psalm 22:10

Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?

Job 31:15

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!”

Isaiah 49:15

That life is sacred.

This new life inside the womb is so sacred & venerable. It is not the mother’s life. It is not the father’s life. Geneticists tell us that. This is a brand new entity. A new life.

What are we doing if we are killing them in their millions? What will we say before the face of God, who created that baby in His own image, when we stand before Him one day?
